“THE POWER & CAPACITY OF LEARNING EXISTS IN THE SOUL ALREADY;

& THAT JUST AS THE EYE WAS UNABLE TO TURN FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT WITHOUT THE WHOLE BODY, SO TOO THE INSTRUMENT OF KNOWLEDGE,

CAN ONLY BY THE MOVEMENT OF THE WHOLE SOUL BE TURNED FROM

THE WORLD OF BECOMING INTO THAT OF BEING,

& LEARN BY DEGREES TO ENDURE THE SIGHT OF BEING,

& OF THE BRIGHTEST & BEST OF BEING,

OR IN OTHER WORDS, OF THE GOOD.”

           Honoring the Body’s Innate Wisdom

                                                      by
                                              Lin Weiss, MH

The human body is a masterful teacher and an essential guide to what is going on emotionally, mentally and spiritually in our lives.

Most of us have found ourselves in challenging times when relationships, jobs, finances or physical health were not optimum.  These discomforts reflect energetic imbalance that is revelatory in the body, mind and emotions.

In our western culture, the knee-jerk reaction is to treat physical symptoms, with an out-of-sight/out-of-mind type philosophy that assumes if the physical manifestations (i.e.: pain; itching; tumors; etc.) of an illness pass, so has the disease.

As more and more of us seek natural, non-invasive therapies for our healing instead of complicated chemical compounds with potentially serious side-effects, it becomes clear that “Energy follows thought,” as Albert Einstein declared.  Science is proving that our thoughts and sub-conscious belief systems can create disease in the body.  We have all experienced times when we were not happy, and in fact, were miserable in a given situation, but chose to stay, perceiving a lack of options.  Physical illness ensues when the soul sees no way out.  Often we’re too caught up in the mental/emotional battles to even notice until it becomes disabling.  In his book, Biogeneology: Decoding The Psychic Roots of Illness, Patrick Obissier calls this “the biological conflict that leads to physical disease”.

In Holistic practice we look at the symptomology of an individual, treating the physical, emotional, and mental disturbances as part of the whole.  For instance, what is the underlying meaning of a dysfunctional, toxic liver?  It is important to nourish the body on a physical level with clean, healthy food, drink and appropriate nutrition.  But it is difficult to accomplish balance when one is angry over a dysfunctional job situation or a relationship under duress. These experiences trigger emotional energy components that block healthy assimilation in the liver.  How might a low-frequency liver reveal itself within the body?  Shoulder pain; arthritis; indigestion; joint pain; fatigue; headaches; allergic reactions to food or medicines… for example.  These symptoms tend to be treated as separate afflictions on a superficial level.  Adding more drugs and chemicals just make the liver more toxic, increasing the intensity of the condition, which may lead to more debilitating conditions.

When physical disturbances and serious illness present themselves, they are the result of long-standing unresolved emotional conflicts within the individual.  Most often these are subconscious thought patterns, triggering the body’s monitoring and communication systems to finally get our attention.  They are often the result of childhood traumas, which were never addressed, but remain stored in the energy centers of the body.  When something happens in our daily lives to trigger these traumatic emotions, we dismiss them calling it stress or anxiety, which take their own kind of toll on our physical wellbeing.

Treating the whole individual from a natural prospective does involve treating the physical discomfort.  Proper nutrition, exercise, plenty of good water, oxygen, and proven nutritional therapies and homeopathic remedies will help bring the physical body back into homeostasis.  There are myriad non-invasive and gentle therapies that assist in lifting trauma and anxiety out of the energy field.  For deep, effective and long-term healing, mental and emotional traumas must be transmuted into purposeful, life-giving energies.  The body has a natural tendency toward healing when given the nurture and nutrition it requires.  Gentle, compassionate care combined with the gifts of nature’s bounty can provide amazing results…  Pursue your options and be well!

Healing
by Catherine Carter MH

What does the word healing mean to you?  That is the question that I asked a few individuals recently.  I chose these individuals because they all come from a different back ground.

Catherine:  “Heidy, what does the word healing mean to you?”

Heidy:  “Healing to me means a spiritual cleaning of the mind and body.  It’s not only about getting rid of pains and aches but about facing our inner self.  It’s learning how to find a balance in life.  It’s faith.”

Catherine:  “Judy, what does the word healing mean to you?”

Judy:  “I believe that there is physical and spiritual healing.  I feel that physical healing is so much easier to deal with because even if the healing process takes a while, you have a tangible means of watching (or feeling) the progress.  Spiritual healing is another thing altogether.  There is a saying that “Time heals all wounds.”  I believe this is true, but I also believe that some wounds, for some people, can take a lifetime to heal.  I think that with spiritual healing it is helpful to have open communication with God, the Angels, a best friend, or good ‘ole Mom to open up to so that the healing process begins.  It’s the poor souls that have the helpless feeling of having no one to turn to that I feel sorry for.”

Catherine:  “Socorro (mom), what does the word healing mean to you?”

Socorro:  “Healing” is the process of regenerating.  It has different meaning.  It can pertain to health and mentality or it can pertain to atmosphere and the environment.  This process is for animate or inanimate objects.  It will depend on its use.”

As a Master Healer I have come across many definitions for the word healing and many people with even more definitions.  Plato once said:

“The cure of the part should not be attempted without  treatment of the whole.  No attempt should be made to cure the body without the soul.  Let no one persuade you to cure the head until he has first given you his  soul to be cured, for this is the great error of our day, that physicians first separate the soul from the body.”

Plato’s statement links not only physical but spiritual healing together.  As a Master Healer I keep this vital rule in the forefront of my mind while I am working with patients.

Another rule I follow is the "Theory of Healing" which was in one of my lessons as I was studying to become a Master Healer.

The Theory of Healing

Healing helps to reinstate a pattern of healthy body functions and physiology to someone who has suffered the traumatic effect of disease, illness, or any form of debilitation.  This is true of any form of healing, spiritual or nonspiritual.  To further define healing, one must consider its vital source---Infinite Intelligence (God).  The creator of the “perfect laws that govern life” is also the source that helps those who have violated these laws.

Spiritual healing could be considered a type of healing that is brought about by a nonhuman form.  Defining spiritual healing is not an easy task; however, the basic definition adopted by the National Spiritualist Association of Churches is:

Spiritual healing is a gift possessed by certain Spiritualist mediums, and this gift is exercised by and through the direction and influence of excarnate spiritual beings for the relief, cure and healing of both mental and physical diseases of humankind.

No greater challenge faces us than healing our own mental, physical, and spiritual problems, but if you keep in mind the definition of healing, it points you in the right direction.

                                 WRITING AS A HEALING PROCESS

by
                                                                   Chris Mundy

Writing, whether artistically or simply journaling everyday thoughts and feeligs in a diary, helps bring forth your life issues, emotions, and memories. Some will be great, some good, some negative. Once these surface, you can try to understand them and heal. Sometimes writing heals by just allowing you to let off steam.

Many do not want to take the time to write regularly. Even a paragraph or two or a line or two once a week in a notebook can help start your healing journey. We have more time in our daily lives than we realize. What are you doing as you wait in your doctor's office or wait to pick up your kids?

Some are afraid that their most intimate thoughts will be unveiled to those around them. Find a good hiding place or buy a diary with a lock and key. Don't let fear keep you from doing something that will be beneficial to you. If all else fails, tell the family your journal is off-limits and you have it booby-trapped.

I've heard those who say they don't have anything to write. Take small steps by writing down what you did that day. Before long, you'll be describing your emotions that went along with what you did and suddenly you start seeing patterns in your behavior.

Writing or journaling is a personal method for unlocking things hidden deep within. Yes, some things will seem unimportant or boring as most definitely some of the things in our lives seem to be at the time. But nothing is ever unimportant when it comes to healing. You never know- you might discover you're a better writer than you think. Maybe there is a book somewhere in there that could help other people!

My great-grandfather, Albert C. Peterson, who passed away many years before my great grandmother, wrote a poem for her prior to his death. I imagine his purpose was to help her through his illness and give assurance that he would always be near. His words must have brought great comfort and helped her heal during her grief.

       THERE IS NO DEATH

There is no death. My love was laid
In a new made grave, beneath the shade
Of a sheltering pine, there on the hill.
But oftentimes
At night when it is still,
He comes and whispers in my ear,
"There is no death. I am waiting dear."

There is no death he seems to say
I am always with you night and day
And I enjoy the love that you
Bestow on me as I used to do.
Your love is mine. My love is yours.
And nothing else, save love, endures.

There is no death so do not mourn,
And be downhearted and forlorn.
I know you are lonely but don't be sad
Our time will come and you'll be glad
That I escaped the years of pain
And missed the thunder clouds and rain.

There is no death. Go forth and do,
And live your life so brave and true
As when I stood there by your side
Through the years that I became your groom
Enjoy the pleasure. Endure the pain.
When the years have passed we will meet again.

There is no death. Life's darkest night
Has been transformed to morning bright
And we've begun to live anew
Since tht messge came so clear and true
The years spent here are but a breath
Love never dies. There is no death.
